I actually picked up a more 'real' microphone and an M-Audio M-Track but after futzing about with the hardware and the I/O on it trying to get it all to play nice, the simplicity of the AT2020+ and the fact that for an LP application there is ZERO perceptible quality loss won out.Not only that, but the USB version of the AT2020 has three things on it that make it wonderful for LP use: the mic-out, the monitor knob, and the volume knob. What this does is SO invaluable for an LP'er it's hard to overstate.

What it lets you do is set your audio levels on the software side, but then tweak how YOU hear it without changing what's being recorded at all.To put it in real-world terms, I always like to be able to hear myself as I record, but some games I want to be hearing louder or softer. So maybe for game X I'll have the mic/system audio at 50/50, but this other game has some obnoxiously sibilant music so I drop the volume while changing the monitor to lean more toward the mic so MY voice is at the same level, but the GAME is quieter. And, of course, the same works the other way around. Advice with the CADu37 (I use this same mic):Hang it 'upside down' with the light facing you, seems like a good position to catch your voice if it's sitting on the desktop in front of you.Go into your Sound/Recording Devices and the properties of this mic when you hook it up, and TURN OFF AGC. I'm serious, AGC makes every little sound as loud as the loudest sound it receives (probably you). You don't want that, trust me.
