Chrome Most Visited Gone

0201

My Google Chrome is no longer showing thumbnails. Where the thumbnails should be, there are icons for things like yahoo, facebook, you tube, Amazon and so forth. This just started happening 2 hours ago. I didn't make any changes except for downloading and installing a couple of PDF merge programs. Can you please help me get my old Chrome back (with thumbnails).Thank you in advance for any help.PLEASE SEE SOLUTION HERE by member slid3r'Enable using the Google local NTP' Flag Set to 'Enabled'Note: Post updated by forum admin to include link to solution. You're the only one who provided a suggestion that worked! Thanks!Everyone else is full of. and wasting people's time.

Your suggestion actually worked. Although i would amend the wording one bit for a bit more clarity to:Here is the solution.1. Open a new tab2. In the URL bar type: chrome://flags/3. CTRL-F and type: Google local NTP4. Choose the option of: Google local NTP5.

Set this feature to: 'Enabled'6. RelaunchThat should restore your home page to the interface you're used to. Cobbie63 the same thing happened to me yesterday!

I was browsing around and was called away for a bit, when I came back I opened a new tab and noticed all my thumbnails are gone. After resetting several times (and that's a PITA because I have to go around and sign back into all the stuff I had been signed into already since I blasted my cookies) I'm still stuck with no thumbnails. I'm not happy that it happened, but I am relieved that I'm not the only one. It looks like Google might have pushed some kind of update, although I have auto-update turned off and didn't initiate this change so I'm a bit confused as to this behavior.

I tried on two other laptops with the same effect. One laptop I haven't used in over two weeks, but it exhibited the same problem.

Chrome most visited thumbnails missing

I then had my wife log into her email on the laptop (she has an account on the laptop) and she also saw no thumbnails. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday 8/6/18 and tried everything to get them to come back. I posted here and got no answer. I posted on CNET hoping they could help. Then later in the day I found out that Chrome had changed a lot of things so somehow I got a update of Chrome, but I do not like what then did. Yes I have the shortcuts, but more of them in little icon versions, new tabs on the top pages, etc.

Chrome Android Most Visited Disappeared

I wish I could tell you how to change Chrome but perhaps if you go to and ask there they will tell you how to do it. It is just an update. Same issue here. I noticed yesterday morning that they were missing and then about an hour later they were back. This morning they were missing again. Checked my wife's computer and same issue.

Now, given that these are simply customizations of Google's web page (customized for each user signed in), would I be correct in assuming that Google has removed them at least temporarily for an update or maintenance? I've seen this issue before but this seems to be the longest period of time that they've been missing. I tried the solution but after step 3, I could not figure out how to do step 4.

It was not obvious to me. Please help me understand what I am doing wrong. Thanks. Can one of you people that made this work, please explain in simple words, what I need to do after step 3? HOW DO I 'SET THIS FEATURE TO ENABLED' i do not see any button or anything else to allow me to do that. I must be the dumbest guy on this site! I have had and worked with computers since 1984 so I am not completely computer illiterate, but can someone please help me?

Chrome Version: 25.0.1364.172Operating System: Windows 7Extensions: WebrootMy issue is with the Most Visited sites that show up on a New Page.Is there any way to refresh the thumbnails on this page without completely clearing my History? Two problems:1) I accidently deleted one of my Most Visited sites and now I can't get it to reappear no matter how many times I revisit the website.2) The thumbnails used to refresh every time I visited a site, but now they don't seem to do that. Right now Ann Coulter is staring at me from the HuffPo link every time I open a new page and I would like to get rid of her.

Unforunately if I delete the link it may never come back (see above). From other postings I understand that if I completely dump my History it will refresh the Most Visited links, but some postings also say that once you have deleted a site from Most Visited you can never get it back, even if you do dump History. The simple answer would be to allow a Refresh of this page, but I guess we will have to hope and wait for that. Thanks for any help.take care!
