Mak 90 Serial Numbers
The Egyptian MAADI AK47 pre'98 imports are second only to the PolyTech Legend in durability and pattern. They were made on Russian tooling to AK standard pattern (meaning all surplus parts interchange) by military personnel in military arsenals. The MAADI is the AKM version of the Russian AK47.The PolyTech Legend is the AKS version of the Russian AK47PolyTechs are king of all AK's one step below a genuine 1950 Russian original AK47.The Chinese MAK90's of pre-'98 import are also quality AK's like the Egyptian MAADI of same era. Don't mistake the Misr10 (takes only single stack mags) or Misr90 (Chinese&Maadi put together Frankenstein rifles) for the complete Chinese MAK90's.
Only problem with the MAK90's is the slanted receiver. The three rifles mentioned above were manufactured by military personnel in military arsenals of said countries. All, and I mean ALL current imports today are INFERIOR to the rifles mentioned above. The either have some or all of these problems below:NON Standard AK pattern- meaning surplus parts are not interchangeableMade by civiliansRifles are from kits that are put together by weekend garage armorersInferior magazine lock-up due to missing dimples in receiverModified to appear AK pattern from a completely different design such as single stack mags or trigger placement.Downright dangerous workmanship-risk to safety when shootingetc. You want an AK47? Then pay the bucks for a PolyTech, MAADI, or MAK90 from pre-'98.

Serial Numbers Nero
So I own a norinco ak47 and a Egyptian maadi imported by century arms. Listen I've been told how crappy these maadis were from a few people but after I field stripped it, it looked solid, matching numbers, g2 trigger, bore looked good and there was no loose parts and mag wasn't loose at all. The real test was when I shot it, my norinco nhm 91 outshot my friends saiga at the range so I know what a good ak47 feels, shoots and sounds like. My Egyptian maadi performed amazing, no jams and pretty accurate at a 100 yds out.You maybe if your lucky can still find this gun for $500 but I highly doublt it, this is post Obama being elected and I live in Colorado where our 2nd amendment rights are in jeapardy. Prices for handguns, ammo and especially assault rifles have SKYROCKETED!!!
If your paying less than.50 cents a round for tulammo you are getting a good deal. I bought mine for $850 for 2 30 round mags. This is 2013 and I haven't seen a cheap wasr built from a kit under $800 in months on the internetor gunshows. Sks can go up to $700 in Colorado which is insane!

But I own two ak47's and I have plenty of mags and ammo just in case laws are passed, but anyone that wants a good ak, buy a Chinese or Egyptian if you don't want to deal with converting a saiga. Yeah norinco gets a bad rap from lots of folks who havent shot one or dont own one, i only have one nornco sks i love it dearly for what it is. I hear lots of fans of norinco 1911's especially folks that bought them long ago for dirt cheap. Thats a good gun, i am gonna buy or build a FN fal but if you were local to me and offered that mak 90 for $350 i would buy it no problem. I am an AK novice, but i think there was something special i forget what feature. I have read so much on AK's in the last few months i have them all jumbled up. I am sure einheit knows.
Something uncommon about the early mak 90s?Crap thats it, some were milled not stamped recievers. Anyways why do you even want to sell it lol? Thats the real question.
Keep it and stock pile ammo. If its a milled one we might have to figure out some way to send it to detroit. I hear it calling me.crap again its of course in einheits diagram.(the milled versus stamped).
