Republic Commandos Clone Wars
Overview Just another day at the office.Star Wars: Republic Commando is a squad-based first-person shooter set between the events of. It was originally released for in February 2005; a version followed in March 2005.The game features an innovative, context sensitive system. Using a single button, the player can order squad members to take up sniping positions, hack doors, or utilize grenades at predefined locations in the environment. This system is similar to one that would later be used in the series.Developed internally by, it was well received by critics and is generally regarded as one of the better games. One of the common criticisms, however, concerns the shortness of the single-player campaign, which can be completed in only a couple sittings.
The game is also notable for closing on a cliffhanger ending that has never been resolved.Sales figures for Republic Commando were never released, and no sequel was announced. Backstory The Commandos of Delta SquadThe world of Republic Commando is set in the Star Wars universe but is much darker compared to other games in the.
The darker, grittier tone represents the world as seen through the eyes of a clone soldier, who is born and killed for a singular, violent purpose. This stands in stark contrast to the idyllic vision of the Jedi, whose powers are so great that they have little to fear from the droids that constantly hound the clone soldier. The game is divided into three chapters:, the Prosecutor,. Throughout all three chapters, the player controls, leader of Delta Squad. Delta Squad is a group of four commandos. Receiving the standard training of a soldier, these elite commandos are augmented with superior strength, endurance, and additional training in specialized roles and squad-based tactics.
Boss's three squadmates are,. Trained to work as a singular unit, Delta Squad is deployed on covert missions that require the finesse and strength that only Delta Squad can provide.
Delta SquadDelta Squad is comprised of four members, all of them clones designated by a number preceded by the letters RC, which naturally stand for Republic Commando. They are each easily identified in-game by the color tones in their armor. While each squad member has a different area of specialty, they're all generally trained to carry out any order. Here's a brief description of each of the team members. RC-1138 Boss, the LeaderNicknamed ', he is the leader of Delta Squad. He is the undisputed leader of the squad and doesn't talk much, except upon giving orders. In case you didn't know yet, he's the character you play as. RC-1138 was voiced by, who also voiced.
His armor has an orange tint.RC-1262 Scorch, the Demolitions ExpertNicknamed ', he is the squad's demolitions expert. He is shown having a peculiar sense of humor, a fact he speculates on during the quieter moments of Delta Squad's missions, and often provides the game with several comical relieves. He received the nickname 'Scorch' after an accident that left him without eyebrows for a short time. His armor has a yellow tint.RC-1207 Sev, the SniperNicknamed ', he is Delta Squad's hunter and sniper. He was trained by Mandalorian Sergeant Walon Vau. He has a deep and menacing growl-ish voice, as well as a sadistic sense of humor, and often jokes with 'Scorch' before and during missions; this leads to the most unique bond within the squad. RC-1207 isn't really prone to antics; his nickname simply comes from the fact that the last digit of his identification code is seven.
His armor has a red tint.RC-1140 Fixer, the HackerNicknamed '; he is the hacker and technical expert of Delta Squad.RC-1140 is referred to by his squadmates as 'Fixer' because he is an expert at solving problems via computers and equipment. However, Fixer himself will never refer to himself - or any other clone - by their nickname.

Welcomes you.Firstly, in new canon I don't think we've seen too much of either ARC or RC and relatively few details about their improved capabilities, so just how good they are is a bit up in the air.Now for Legends.I myself don't have too much authority on this, as much as I wish I did, but from what I've read the Null/Alpha ARCs are definitely designed/trained to be more skilled than Clone Commandos man for man; they're much more 'one-man army'-ish. Clone commandos are specifically trained to be most efficient as squads of four and are unrivaled in that regard.Basically, ARCs are the best at lone wolf operations, and clone commandos are the best at squad operations. I got the complete opposite impression. First of all, some notable ARCs with lots of detail in current canon are Rex, Fives, and Echo (The Come Wars animated series is still 100% canon). They are seen as leading the 501st which consists of many standard, non-ARCs. This is where they are mainly seen, leading the entire 501st.Meanwhile, we see Delta Squad from Republic Commando appear briefly in The Clones Wars. Of course this doesn't canonize Amy events in the game, just that these characters exist in canon.

We also see Gregor who is another Republic Commando. Every detail the show gave us about these clones is that they did operations with just their very small squad.Neither are lone wolf soldiers, but given that Republic Commandos work in much smaller groups is argue they'd be more efficient if left on their own. I said that I was mostly referring to Legends.
In Legends, Null/Alpha ARC troopers are guys like ARC-77 aka Captain Fordo aka. IIRC the Republic Commando novels also has the clone commandos admitting that ARCs are far superior solo operators. In Legends, clones like Rex, Fives, and Echo are considered 'second-generation' ARCs, if you will. They're.quite a bit less ultra uber 80s action hero one-man army badass. But I actually agree that if we're just going by what we've seen in new canon, Clone Commandos are objectively superior. I love that gif so much.To give my two cents on the debate: It seems the ARC troopers were given a little more 'jack of all trades' training compared to the Commando clones we see. But that being said, it seems like the armor and weapons given to the Commandos is much higher quality than the kind given to the ARCs.I think the issue is that we know the Commandos exist in Canon, but their background and the specifics are not.
The ARCs are also present in Canon, but in TCW it seems like an award with the prize being more training (which we don't know about). And when we take Legends into account, few sources put the two side by side or even in comparable terms. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on the Muunilinst 10 over Delta Squad. But it might come down to the last few clones in that fight. Short answer: If a pod of clone commandos could get a few ARCs in a straight fight, they might win with numbers, but ARCs excel at winning before it can become a straight fight.
Teams: I'd bet on the ARCs every time. Individually, the ARCs win. Hard.My understanding from the Legends is that clone commandos were the top dogs for squad combat and special forces strikes/raids. Think STS-6 type stuff; CCs were meant for decisive raids on hard targets, assassinations, and taking out objectives and exfiltrating before the enemy could react. These guys were trained by Mandalorians and did really well for themselves, but the ARCs were on a different level.ARCs were intended for missions with longer time-frames far from Republic support-hence the 'Advanced Reconnaissance' in the name. As a result, they had to be good enough to survive long enough to complete their missions in any terrifying place in the galaxy they had to go.alone.
Get your intel. These capabilities meant that they could inflict terrifying amounts of damage to an enemy operation, but the ARCs weren't meant to. The ARCs were also assigned to the other spectrum of special forces work; indigenous support.
Think CIA stuff; go to a planet, provide some weapons and training, and help a population organize an effective resistance against the CIS. It's less skill intensive and certainly far from the spotlight, but still vital for the Republic. Also, I thought I read a long time ago that a number of clone commanders underwent ARC training, and they were dubbed ARC commanders. I thought Fordo and Alpha were examples of this.

I wouldn't consider these guys to be proper ARC troopers, but I could be fuzzy on the details. Am I wrong?.
