Skyrim Release Date Ps4
I actually enjoy remakes. Metro, Tomb Raider and Last of Us all look fantastic.Although for some reason I just can't see Skyrim as a good remastering project.
It is a fantastic game that I loved but many of the issues with it aren't going to be solved with a resolution bump and better textures. Also, I feel like the potential audience will either be burnt out on the last gen version or completely satisfied with their single play through. Although you could argue the same for GTA, I think GTA allows for more open world mischief.Personally I'm not ready to drop another 80 hours on it, but on the other hand the PS4 is lacking quality RPGs. Porting is not easy. Its not a case of flicking a switch and hey presto it loads on PS4!Developers have to port to PS4 hardware devkits / compilers, Gfx pipelines, fixing bugs or possible alterations due to this.
A massive testing phase again to cope with such a drastic platform change, and then you need to think of marketing/promotion and such. Its a massive operation.Just because they have multiple teams does not mean this is simple. What if they are half way through another undisclosed title? Simply upsticks and move to this project? A major headache professionally. Also as a developer: Porting a title, its not fun, id rather be innovating on something new rather trudging old ground on an old title. Porting is the most PROFITABLE model on the current gen systems (PS4,XB1).
Skyrim Release Date Ps4
The architecture allows for an easy flow into the system. With the numerous Remastered games and some upcoming relaunches this is evident. The advertising budgets have been cut by a huge margin due to the Share button, Constant Streaming and just the highly social layer of the Console's.Since Skyrim has already been on Console's and PC's for almost 4 Year's im sure they are aware about all major issue's. Debugging for it would not take as much as a new game would. All im saying is that the Benefit's are far greater than the effort. HIGH HIGH PROFITS.
Porting might be profitable, but is it the desirable model? I'm 100% sure most Gamers want new ideas, and that developers wish to work on new ideas.Like I said earlier, porting is cheap and lazy. Publishers need to invest in new IP's, not garner more cash on 4 year old products.I'd rather the hard work be done now on learning the gfx pipeline, and hardware limitations, and such, not focussing on out of date products, where such things have been done. At the end of the day, you may get Elder scroll 6 out of it, looking better than anything you could imagine, if they invest in such things. Otherwise we may end up waiting 2-3 years before anything truly next gen is released, whilst we get remasters/ports of games that are only 1-5 years old, which alot of gamers have already payed and played on older systems. If you desire Skyrim so much, get a cheap PS3/360 and pick up the original. There will be little difference, if any, with a ported version.
