Diana Palmer is the pseudonym of Susan Kyle, an American romance novelist. Born in Georgia in 1946, she has published over 150 books since 1979. She went back to college at 54, graduating from Piedmont College in 1995.
She is also working on a master’s degree in history from California State University.As a journalist, she wrote for the Gainsville Times. Her first book, Now and Forever, was published in 1979. The following year, she published The Morcai Battalion, a science fiction novel, as Susan S. Kyle, though it was reissued as a Diana Palmer title.
She has also written books as Katy Currie, Susan Kyle, and Diana Blayne. Since 1995, all of her publications have been as Diana Palmer.In addition to her over fifty standalone novels, including 1983’s Diamond Girl, which was adapted for television, Palmer has written a number of series. The largest series, Long Tall Texans, spans over forty books. Calhoun, published in 1988, was the first book, though the 2003 volume, The Founding Father, was a prequel for the series.
There have also been ten omnibus editions of the series’ novels.Palmer’s romance novels have earned her a variety of sales awards. She was given the 1992-1993 Career Achievement Award for series storyteller by the Romantic Times.
In that year, she published the three books of her Case of the Most Wanted series, two of the Night of Love series novels, two books of the Long Tall Texans series, three standalone novels, and several anthologies and omnibus editions.
